let me be, not let him be

today's setting sun looked
much bigger and brighter than other days

again

i had to get out my camera
and
take a picture of it

*****************************************

prayer
when i say a prayer
when i say a prayer about him
when i say a prayer about what kind of person i wish he would be

pray
i need to pray
i need to pray that i will
i need to pray that i will be the person who is suitable
for the kind of person i want to meet

let me be
let me be the person who he is praying for

let's stop
let's stop saying the "let him be" list prayer

LORD,
remind me

i pray that i will be
...

In the name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior, I pray.
Amen.

Grandma's 86th B-Day Party!

Today, we celebrated my dad's side grandmother's 86th birthday.

Our granny has 3 sons and 4 daughters.
The 1st son got married and has 2 sons.
The 2nd son, my dad, got married and has 2 daughters.
The 3rd son got married and has 2 sons.
The 1st daughter got married and has 3 sons.
The 2nd daughter got married and has 1 son & 1 daughter.
The 3rd daughter got married and has 2 sons and 1 daughter.
The 4th daughter got married and has 3 daughters.
Our 3rd uncle's and 4th aunt's families are still in Korea.

Think my dad's side family is big?
Wait until you meet my mom's side family!
hahaha (^O^;)
My mom has 6 brothers and 2 sisters!
There are 9 in all including herself.

Dad, me, Granny, and Mom
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Hal-Muh-Nee~!!!!
Dad's older brother's first son & his wife
My boy cousin who got married on my birthday!!! (-.-)
Their son, Shane Ju-Ah Han, is due by the end of November this year!
Dad's older brother's wife and her second son
Dad's third sister's son, his wife, and their daughter
We'll celebrate Jasmyn's first birthday on November 1st!
Dad's second sister, her hubby, and their children

This aunt got married later than her younger sister.
And my third aunt's son got married really early, too.
That's why my third aunt's son already has a daughter
when my second aunt's son is only in high school.
I hope it doesn't happen to my sister and me.
hahaha ;D

Granny and Sally
I sat down with my grandma and had a meaningful conversation tonight.
I asked her how she feels every time she celebrates her birthday.
She told me that she's been longing for the day to go and be with the Lord in heaven for the longest time, but her joys and happiest moments on earth are watching her grandchildren getting married and holding her great-grandchildren in her arms.
I told her that she HAS to stay healthy
and watch me getting married and hold my baby in her arms.

Granny and I made a pinky promise,
intertwining our pinkies and shaking them gently.

some of my cousins
I was watching my mom.
She's more than ready to have her own grandchildren.
kkk

Granny looks soooo happy!
Pure joy, isn't it?!

Jasmyn is sooo funny!
She put on a big, bright smile whenver we took a picture of her.
Her smile disappered at once every time a picture was taken.
We were wondering how she knew when to smile.
We tried to record her reaction, but she didn't smile when I was recording.
So, we found out that it was the orange light from my camera
that blinked every time we pressed a button to take a picture of her!!!
How smart!
It's funny.
My parents told me that I really hated taking pictures when I was a baby.

They told me that they had to pin me down or hold all my arms and legs
to take a picture of me.

No wonder I only have a few of my baby pictures.

Appa & Umma
I was looking at this picture on my computer screen and
frowning over the bright reflection of the camera light above their heads.
Mom walked into my room and said, "Wow! That light is so beautiful!"
(O.O)
kka kka kka
Well, if Mom thinks it's beautiful, it's beautiful.

Dad & Grandma
I love their smile!
I don't know why,
but my dad told me to take another picture of them like this.

I think it looks odd with their arms down side to side,
but Dad thinks it looks good.

We were saying good-bye to my second aunt's family,
and I saw David sitting in the driver's seat!
What!?!?! He's driving already!?!?
Time flies!

Adios!

We had a good time together.
Too bad that rest of the family members couldn't make it.
Looking forward to meeting each other for our next family gathering~*

the autumn babes

Let's just call them Autumn Babe (AB) #1 & #2 for their privacy.

This is our newly wed AB #1
This is our intelligent AB #2

We all teach at the same school.
We had to get together for a dinner tonight
to celebrate AB #1's and #2's birthdays.
They are the autumn babes!
Their birthdays are only a few days apart,
so we've been celebrating their birthdays together.

We don't exchange gifts or do anything overboard for birthdays.
We just get together for a dinner on a Friday after school.
The birthday babes just order their food and don't worry about the rest.
It has become our tradition that the non-birthday babes cover the b-day babe's bills.
I don't remember when it all started,
but we've been doing this for several years.
And we all love it!

We went to a Peruvian restaurant called El Rocoto in Cerritos.
The food was good,
and we had a great time together.

We had so much to share about each grade level and what's been happening since the beginning of the school year. It is such a blessing to have colleagues who can understand what we go through each day as we teach the little munchkins. hahaha

The girl behind AB #1's and my birthdays are in the same month as well.
We are the winter babes (WB).
Let's call the girl behind AB #1 WB #1 and call me WB #2.
Four of us will get together and have a dinner again
in February to celebrate WB #1's and my birthdays.
Can't wait! Where should we go? kkk

(AB #2 is taking the first bite)
El Rocoto's birthday flan for our AB #1 & #2!!!
We loved the message on the plates!

After the first bite...
it was gone with the wind~!
It was yummy!

(^0^(^0^(^0^(^0^)
Did we have fun!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

rest of the memory from korea

손양원 목사님의 삶과 아들들의 순교를 다룬
사랑의 원자탄을 찍은 소록도

Inside the house we stayed near Bo-Sung Green Tea Field
It was raining in the morning.
So peaceful...

So beautiful...

Hmmm...Justin...(-__-)
What...are...you...doing??

Nope, I didn't ask Jane to do it.
Jane told me to do it.
Seriously.
She said that she will be an obedient student who dearly respects her teacher.

Of course, we had to have their green tea ice cream!
We screamed for some more ice cream!

Pastor Han cooked Ra-Myun for us while we were taking a walk in the green tea field.
How nice!!

Eating Ra-Myun after the morning walk.
Goooooooood~!
Whose foot is that?! Ang??

I really like my first uncle and his wife.
First uncle's family with his son, daughter-in-law, and his granddaughter
I went to visit my old church pastor in Korea.
They remodeled the whole church!

The church's name had been changed from Bong-Chun-Jung-Ang to Happy Church.
My cousin who drove me everywhere I wanted to go while I was in Korea.
I still cannot believe that he's all grown up.
We used to play every day at our house when we were young.
My younger girl cousin who just got married 6 months ago.
They were on a vacation, but we were able to see each other on the phone.
One of my cousins had a phone that I could talk and see the other person's face all at the same time. Cool!

Second uncle's daughter, son-in-law, and their two children.
