Hawaiian Dance

I love Karen!
Karen is our retired kindergarten teacher.
I really like her as a person and respect a lot as a former teacher.
She is loving, patient, and wise.
Karen is fully enjoying her retirement.
One of the many fabulous things she is doing includes
taking Hawaiian dance classes with her friend Sue who is also a retired teacher.
This was their annual performance at Cerritos Library in the Skyline Room.
I was so glad that I could make it though I was late.
I hope to be there on time next year to watch the whole performance.
It was time for everyone to join and follow the teacher.
Karen dragged my hand to join her.
I was hesitant at first, but I had so much fun up there!
kkk... Then I had some fun taking pictures in the beautiful, bright sunlight in the elevator.
It's really fascinating that the amount of the light can change how the images in pictures look like. I believe that's what a lot of wedding photographers do when they take pictures.
Having some more fun. Is my left eyelid swollen? ;p

100th Day of School

100 days already?!

Yes, my beloved kindergarteners and I have come to school for 100 days
to learn, grow, cry, and laugh together.

God, help me to love each and every one of these children
and
teach them wholeheartedly every day.

gift for myself

My mom got this ring for me for Christmas last year.
I love the heart that says "Faith" on the ring.
It means...
I need to be faithful to God who loves me unconditionally.
I need to have faith even when I face the worst trials in my life
and know that God is love and He loves me forever.

I need to have the faith that God will bring my love when the right time comes.

And the list goes on and on...

My neighbor Evy and I have a couple of things in common.
One of the common things we have is "giving ourselves gifts" on our birthdays. kkk
I got this cross pendant for myself to celebrate my 29th birthday.
I used to hate the fact that some people wear a cross without any reason, but becuase it is a cool piece of jewerly or just because it is "pretty." My Bible study group people were having a conversation about some ways to tell the world about Jesus Christ and His love. This lady told us that she thinks of wearing a cross necklace to get people's attention or to start a small talk about Jesus. She said, "A child can look at your cross necklace and ask what that is, and you can start talking about how much Jesus loves us that He died on the cross for us."
I thought for a while about it, and decided to get this pendant for myself. I hope some of my kindergarten kids will notice my necklace and ask me some questions that will give me a chance to share my faith and the Good News.

What a pleasant surprise it was!
I really wasn't expecting anything.
But 3 candles?!
Did they think I was turing 30?!
(>0<)
I'm 29!
I just decided to think that they meant to say taht I am "forver 21."
Thank you all! You guys are the best!
It was a blueberry cake from Paris Baguette.
It was really good!

Eric's Wedding

My cousin Eric married Kelly on my birthday!!! kkk
Eric is my dad's older brother's first son.
They got married at Luthern Central Church in Los Angeles. Eric and Kelly decided to get married at this church because it is pretty. Eric's younger brother will get married at the same church when he gets married. We had a great time.

My dad made an announcement. I tried to take a picture of him, but the piano was on the way. By the way, our sister-in-law the piano for them. She is our first aunt's second daughter-in-law.

God, bless this couple.
Let Eric and Kelly love each other like You love us unconditionally.
Help them to glorify You together and build a family of faith.
In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

older & wiser ;p

On Saturday, February 2, 2008,
our Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow.
We will have 6 more weeks of winter!
AND
I am a year older!
I am 29 years old now!

Time truly flies, and I come to realize that some prayers won't be answered if they are not according to God's will. 29 is the age I expected to have my very first child. I am 29, and I'm not even married!!! hahaha
Well, God knows the best.
I have already experienced what happens if I become too anxious and believe what I desire or someone else desires is God's will. I do not want to repeat the same mistake again. I will not repeat the same mistatke again. I will be patient. I will continue to be faithful and know that everything is in God's mighty hands. Perhaps I am not ready to meet someone now. I realize that I have tons of responsibilites as a full-time school teacher, a part-time youth group jundo, and a part-time graduate school student. I also have my duties as a daughter of God and my parents, a sister, and a friend. I cannot do "all" things and be "all" that others expect me to be. I am sure that God will clearly show me when to say yes/no to what in His time.

I can feel God's warm hands of grace and love bathing my tired body and holding me tightly.
I can almost hear God saying,
"Song yi ya, my grace is sufficient for you,
for my power is made perfect in weakness."
(2 Corinthians 12:9)

Lord, I thank You for what I do not have.
Thank You for who I am right now.
I praise You and give thanks to You for who You are.
In the name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior, I pray.
Amen.
