Kimchi Mandu ;p

One of my tutorees' moms made Kimchi dumplings for me today.
They were the best!!!

I was on the way to this student's house for tutoring today.
I thought of what I should eat for lunch
after tutoring.
I didn't have to think of what to eat at all
after eating these delicious dumplings.
Yum~!!!!

I'm getting fed everytime I tutor at my students' houses.
!3 kinds of snacks 3 times a day at 3 different houses!
Am I blessed!!!
I'm so grateful for their thoughtfulness!

Korean moms and grandmas know how to feed their guests!
I think I'm on the way to become one of them soon.
hahaha ;D

i love tiger rolls ;p yum~

no raw fish for me
never

i hate sashimi
the only thing i like it raw is vegetable!
other than that, i kindly refuse to eat them
yes, i will NOT eat a piece of sashimi
even if someone offers me two hundred dollars
...well, maybe i'll eat a piece if i get a million dollars for it
hahaha ;D

i had to stop by the shogun and get their tiger rolls today for lunch
shogun is a tiny japanese restaurant near talbot
the korean a-jum-mas there are nice to people
i really enjoy eating good/real food for lunch, not dinner
a big dinner and a full stomach makes me feel so unpleasant

heeheehee look at the cute tail~
crunch, crunch
doesn't this almost look like a stemmed rose bud?
interesting!
nyam, nyam, nyam~it was just what i wanted

a bowl of salad with their house dressing
a bowl of miso soup
the famous tigerrrrr rolls
a slice of orange for dessert

hmmmmm...
what should i eat for lunch tomorrow??

Oh, Mother ;D

I was getting ready to eat something for lunch yesterday.
I saw three partially wet Ziploc bags laying around the sink.
The first bag was over a chopstick.
The second bag was over a scooper.
And the last one was over a spoon.
I just looked at them with a HUH?! face for a while
until I found out that Mom wanted to reuse the bags!
She had washed the Ziploc bags and put them there like that
to let air dry the wet bags and use them again.
She's been complaining that it's such a waste of money
to use the Ziploc bags just once and throw them away.
How cute!
I also truly respect Mom for being frugal and always thinking of
saving money and resources around her.

So, I got a piece of clothesline, two push pins, and several tiny clothespins
and got to work to surprise my mom.

I turned the bags inside out, so they will dry faster.

Then I realized that the opening of the bag turned into a heart shape!
Cool! It was almost like me saying, "I LOVE YOU MOM!"

Are you wondering what those colorful pictures are on the window?
They are made of Transparent Paint.
It's almost like the stained glass sun catchers,
but you don't paint the glass.
You just need to draw and paint whatever you want on a piece of acrylic board.
No brushes needed. You just squeeze the paint out of the bottle.
It is very important that you don't shake the bottle
because you get tons of tiny bubbles in your artwork
if you shake the paint in the bottle.
And that's not pretty unless you want to have some bubbles for special reasons.

1. Paint

Just squeeze the transparent paint out of the bottle carefully.
Some transparent paints are thin, so they come out quickly.
Some paints are think, so you have to squeeze really hard.

Some people like to outline their pictures with black.
(Mom! My mom made the yellow and purplish/red butterflies.
She had a tough time squeezing out the black paint to outline her butterflies.
&
Me! I made the purplish lily at the upper left corner, rose bud, and the leaf.)

Some like to just paint and make anything they want.
(Joy! My sister made a lovely apple above the butterfly.)

Some outline some parts and leave some parts alone.
(Dad! My dad painted the rose bush at the bottom right.
He's artistically inclined for sure!
I copied Dad and made my purple flower below the yellow butterfly.)

2. Dry

It take a while to dry, so it's better to just put it aside and let it stay overnight.
It gets very messy if you try to peel it before it's completely dried.

3. Peel

They feel like a piece of rubber or plastic once they are completely dried.
It's better to make it thick.

4. Stick

They stick on any smooth or glassy surface.
It's beautiful when the sunlight hits them!

Those hearts on the clothesline gave me the idea to make a love message for my parents.
And I also put my mom's b-day card that she received from the church.
The card says Thanking God For You.
I love it because I sincerely thank the Lord for my mom and dad.

This is what my mom sees when she's standing in front of the sink.
Mom & Dad, I love you all!

Be Still My Soul, Be Still

My favorite picture of Jesus
Yes, You are in charge of my life, not I
Thank You for being who You are

You're much greater than anything and everything
I love You, Lord

(Matthew 8:23~27)
Jesus Calms the Storm
23Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him.
24
Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake,
so that the waves swept over the boat.
But Jesus was sleeping.

25
The disciples went and woke him, saying,
"Lord, save us! We're going to drown!"

26He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?"

Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the waves,

and it was completely calm.

27The men were amazed and asked,

"What kind of man is this?

Even the winds and the waves obey him!"

...
because You are God

June Grad

Our responsible praise leader Jason & sweet grad Crocus!
smile, smile~!!!!
(Judy, Julie, Jason, Crocus, Jane, Paul JDSN, Josh, and Jonathan)
Special shot for special gals! kkk ;p
Congrats!

The Calvary Presbyterian Youth Group celebrated our great June Grads! We were sad that Michelle couldn't make it, but we were soooo glad that Crocus could be with us.
I sometime don't understand why my youth kids do certain things, but I decided to copy them this time. Are we eating corn on the cob or just biting our knuckles?? I have no idea, but it looks cute.
God, give our grads more wisdom and knowledge.
First of all, let them truly realize that You are the source of wisdom, for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of the wisdom like it says in the Bible.

Let the youth kids get on their knees and pray every day.

Let the lost people around our youth kids feel and see the difference between themselves
and our youth kids who love the Lord with all that they have.
Let our youth kids shine Your light and make a difference
as Christian Korean-Americans wherever they go.
Let there be strong and unshakable conviction in their hearts that
God is their solid Rock and the resting place.
Let them come humbly before You and confess that You are the Creator and Ruler of all creation.
Let there be non-negotiable salvation in Christ our Lord and Savior in each and every one of our youth kids' hearts.
I pray all these things in the name of Jesus,
our forever Lord and Savior.
Amen.
