retreat needed: wait 'til 12/8

i was trying to register for the spring 09 class on-line last night.
what?!
i was unable to register though it was the day for all talbot students.
my account was put on hold because i haven't filled out a form that was mailed to my talbot mailbox.
i recently got a note from the talbot receptionist that my box was too full.
she told me to come and pick up my mail today.
i only get to go to talbot when i have a class.
i'm taking a class that is held once a month this semester,
so i rarely get to check my mailbox.
oh, well.
thankfully, i got many things done today.
i went to talbot after the math training and
1) got my mail from the talbot receptionist
2) signed the form and turned it in
3) picked up my parking decal
4) met my academic advisor

one of the requirements that was listed on the form to undo the hold on my account was to promise to take a day off from my everyday life and have a personal retreat.
they had a list of retreat places i could go,
but they also listed that i may go to a hotel and spend a day there all by myself with God.

i have been enjoying listening to pastor skip heitzig's messages on the topic of resting.
i love what he said in one of the messages.
he said, "don't say that 'you'd rather burn out for God than rust out'
because you're out either way!"

'너무'라는 단어는
부정어다

'정말 많이 그립다'라고 할때는
그냥 눈에 안보이니 보고싶어 마음이 허전하다는 말이다

'너무 많이 그립다'라고 할때는
보고싶어 마음이 아파온다는 말이다

그러니 '너무 그리워 눈물이 난다'는 것은
심하게 그리워하는 마음에 고름이 맺혀
눈물이 되어 흐른다는 말이다

이 순간

All Hallows' Eve '08

anyway, let's get to the point.
i want to write about All Hallow' Eve tonight.

The Name "Halloween"

• "Halloween" is a shortened, single-word of "All Hallows' Eve," celebrated the evening before All Hallows' Day (All Saints' Day).
• All Hallows' Eve came to be called "Hallow Even." (Even is an Old English word for "eve.")
• This eventually shortened to "Hallow E'en," which subsequently became "Halloween."
• On All Saints' Day, many believers celebrate the lives of great Chrisitans in previous times who served as good role models.

the original meaning of the word "halloween" has been long-lost

regrettably,
we have the "halloween parade" every year at our school

this boy was sobbing in his chair because
his older brother broke his bloody face mask
and he couldn't wear it any longer

i didn't tell him, but i was actually
glad that his brother broke it.
his mask was the kind you could pump and move the blood in the mask go up and down.
it was really disturbing.
the paint blood got on my hand when i was helping him to put his broken mask in a zip lock bag because the paint blood was leaking from the mask.

this boy's dad asked me if he could take a picture of his son and me.
guess what!
his battery ran out!
what a day for this poor boy!
the boy got even madder!
so i let the dad burrow my camera.
i need to print this picture out and give it to the boy on monday.

i heard bellflower school district does not celebrate halloween at all.
i wish that will happen to our school district as well.

how long will it take?
who will do it?
