True Happiness

Dear LORD,

I thank You for my wise husband.
I prayed for a man who would be older and wiser
than me to be my husband.
There he is--an answered prayer!

I was feeling really down last night.
I asked him,
"Doesn't life repeat itself
and
our days are always the same?"
There was silence for a moment.
And my husband said,

"Life eventually becomes tedious for everyone.
As you try to seek joy in it,
you find true happiness in life."

It was my "Aha!" moment.
I was able to go to bed happy last night,
and I woke up happy this morning.
What a wonderful life it is to be with someone like my husband.

God, You have truly blessed me with a great man with such a "cure-all" positive attitude that is contagious.

Father, this is my prayer.
Let me be an encouragement to my husband
when he is in despair and discouraged.
Let me be his daily vitamins
when he's tired of life's burdens.
Let me be my husband's joy and happiness
as I fervently seek Your wisdom and guidance
in times of difficulties and infliction.

In Jesus name I pray.
Amen.
